Arthur and Libby

She doesn't quite have the focusing thing down yet, but she does like to smile at her daddy.

Boys in the Pool

We spent several hours in the pool on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (this morning). Ian decided he liked using the floaty ring to kick about, though he tended to stay where he could touch the bottom, and Cam, with the addition of a snorkel, became quite the underwater explorer, though he hasn't quite gotten the hang of diving yet.

Making "Music" with Elena

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Durham and on Saturday morning visited the Museum of Life and Science, as we did back in November.

Cam & Ian's Time Machine

I think he picked this idea up from Calvin and Hobbes. When inverted, the time machine becomes a highly functional transmogrification machine.

Cam Reading to Ian

Every night before bed, I read to Ian. Back in April, we started in on The Boxcar Children, but after a couple of chapters, I couldn't take any more. (Pretty depressing stuff, really.) So Cam took over that night. Since then we've gone through a couple of Roald Dahl books and are now working our way through Winnie the Pooh — much less disturbing, provided it doesn't cause one to dream about heffalumps and woozles.

Hiking, 18 April 2010

A few weeks after the last trek, the four of us set out from the same rec area, this time on a different road (still closed at this point, so we didn't have to worry about cars). By then it was warm enough to go in short sleeves, and the trees had started to green up.

Ian's Self-Portrait

Ian has become quite adept at drawing and re-drawing this particular face. Usually he says, "This is me!" but sometimes he puts a scar on the forehead and says, "This is Harry Potter!"

Hiking, 20 March 2010

Back in March, Joanna was away at a conference in Georgia, so on a Saturday afternoon, I took the boys to Corner Rock Rec Area, about twenty minutes away, for an hour-long hike on a trail and this forest road.

Back to Posting

So, how long has it been since last I put something on this blog? Well, this is from the batch of photos I downloaded from the camera this evening, and that's Joanna with Karen and Libby, about six weeks pre-partum. She's now over a month old. Bad me.
