Kissing Cousins

Ian and Elena have become very (uncomfortably?) fond of each other.

Cam and the Bear

This critter seemed to like getting as close to the visitors as possible.

Elena at the Dino-Dig

The newest area of the museum is the dinosaur trail, a path with life-size recreations that ends at a digsite, replete with planted fossils (coral and shark teeth). The boys enjoyed digging and searching; Elena seemed to prefer just sitting in a shallow hole and getting her hands dirty.

Caterpillar Eating Lunch

Use the buttons and joystick to control a camera pointed at a caterpillar eating a leaf. Surprisingly fascinating (and disgusting).

Making "Music"

This was easily Ian's favorite part of the day. Our eardrums will never be the same.

Ball Slopes

Not sure exactly what the kids were supposed to be learning from this installation -- gravity? momentum? the finer points of skee-ball? -- but they enjoyed it regardless.

Cam on the Climbing Wall

On Black Friday, instead of braving the crowds and shopping (bleh!), we took the kids to the Museum of Life and Science.

Cousins

Ian and Elena share a fascination with Blue's Clues.

Tumbling with Uncle Arthur

No serious injuries this time, but only because Arthur was careful about protecting himself.

Watching Frosty

Christmastime officially begins as soon as the last bite of pie is finished after Thanksgiving dinner -- which means it's time to watch Christmas specials! (Frosty the Snowman in this case.)

Ian Reads in Bed

Just lately, Ian has become much more interested in reading -- he doesn't quite know all his letters yet, but he does sing the alphabet song quite frequently.

Thanksgiving Lunch @ Weaverville Elementary

On Friday, 20 November, second graders at Weaverville Elementary got to invite family members to a special lunch. Joanna had to work, but I was free and went over for about half an hour. Cam wasn't keen on the meal being served, so he brought lunch in his Pokémon lunchbox, but he didn't mind sharing my pumpkin pie (well, pumpkin-colored goo, anyway). (Taken with and uploaded from my new phone; text added later.)

Ian Sick

Ian seems to be doing a bit better today, but Sunday afternoon, still feverish, he just couldn't stay awake.

Doc Cam & Ian Lightyear

Cam wanted to be something "real" this year. Ian decided on his costume after putting back Thomas the Tank Engine. Too bad Buzz had to go trick-or-treating with a 102° fever.
